Great show!

Here is a picture of my table at the Revenge of the Recessionistas event at the Argentine Bean Crestview Hills , KY. The event went great! We had close to 100 attend and feedback is that everyone had a wonderful time. The restaurant was packed as ladies began arriving at 5:30 and a steady stream came in all evening. Gift bags were given to the first 60 containing coupons and skin care items. We raffled off a variety of gift certificates and gift bags with cheers going up as people heard their name announced! I sold jewelry as fast as I could! At one point people were 5 deep around my table. The down side...one bracelet grew legs, but considering how busy I was that isn't too bad. Next time I'll take some help as I know I would have sold more if someone could have just taken the money!
So today I am very tired, but would do this again in a minute. Just give me a month to recouperate and make more jewelry. I did very well and am already invited back for Sangria Fest in June. The Argentine Bean closes part of the road off and has music, dancing, food, wine and now ME! This is located in an upscale outdoor shopping center with stores like Ann Taylor, J Jill, Dillards, Black House/White Market, so the customer base is a good one for hand made and unique items. I got a lot of inquires as to what stores carried my jewelry, or where they could make purchases in the future...so I said to go to my webpage and Artfire studio. Gave out a lot of cards. I already have orders from people who were there, and got an e mail this morning for someone who wants a set she saw and didn't buy, so that goes in the mail once I get her payment!
I will be posting some more pictures of the event soon as my friends Todd Provenzano took pictures all evening.

The Displays Arrived!

Thank God Nile Display was wrong in how long it would take for my displays to get here! I just heard a noise outside and it was the FedX truck! (Dancing around the living room...the displays are here!) Good thing he didn't ring the bell, I might have had to hug him and give him a big old kiss!

So I hope this is an indication of how tonight will go! I'll let you know.

My Osolean Adventure Continues

Well, my weight has been stable for the last month, maybe down a pound or two, bur when you consider I have been stressed out and went on a visit to family and ate stuff like fried chicken, brownies and ice cream, I am happy. I need to measure my waist, but my clothes are looser. The big thing I checked was body fat. I have one of those fancy scales that measures it...I have lost a minimum of 7% body fat! Yipee! Now the reason I don't have a hard number is that I wouldn't look at that number when I weighed myself before, but I have a general idea from the few times I snuck a peek. So I am continuing to do the 2 scoops once a day and working out 3 times a week (except last week...too busy). No big diet changes, no crazy workouts!

The Displays Are On The Way!

Who knew I could get so excited to open my e mail and see that the displays shipped last night?! It is just a silly little thing, but unless something odd happens they will be here on time. My friend Kristy suggested I use my husband as an earring display (he is a large guy and she was sure I could put several hundred pair on him)...but I thought it would be a problem when he wanted to go to the bathroom or have a drink. So on to folding my coupon flyers and finishing a dragonfly for the raffle!

Frantic Preparations Continue!

Frantic preparations continue for my upcoming trunk show "Revenge of the Ressionistas" on Wednesday, March 25th at the Argentine Bean in Crestview Town Center. Between doing inventory and pricing, printing coupons and flyers and business cards (oh my!), I keep worrying that I don't have enough stuff to sell and so I keep making "just one more thing!" On top of all that, I ordered some more displays and bags, not realizing that they would take 3 days to get the order ready to ship...if I calculated correctly (fingers crossed) they will get here on time. If not I'll just make do with what I have.
I always laugh at myself when this is all over because I do this every time. I was oddly upset when my step daughter ordered about 10 items (which she paid for) because I thought "Crap, now I have to make 10 items to replace them". Silly huh?!? I shouldn't care where the money comes from. I should be so lucky as to sell almost everything, but my fingers are crossed.
I'll let you all know how it goes!

For Immediate Release:

RECESSIONISTAS GET THEIR REVENGE
AT “BEAUTY-ON-A-BUDGET” EVENT

Recessionistas, the newly coined term for women who find ways to cleverly make the best of the current economic downturn, will get their revenge and even a little “girl time” at a unique event at the Crestview Hills Towne Center. On Wednesday evening, at the Argentine Bean, March 25th, from 6-9pm, Beauty-On-A-Budget will be the theme for a wine and dine gathering of local women who have trimmed, but not entirely eliminated, their beauty budgets.

Best of all, attendees can check out the latest innovation in achieving long, luxourious lashes from Latisse™. Latisse™ is the first and only FDA approved prescription product that can be used to grow lashes making them longer, thicker and darker. “This launch will help us get the word out that we can now offer Latisse even before the commercials hit the air in April” said event coordinator Paula Provenzano. Ms. Provenzano, who has been featured on television and in national publications for her health and beauty expertise, recently joined A Woman’s Touch Plastic Surgery Center in Edgewood. She, along with Dr. Deborah Sillins’ M.D., medical director of A Woman’s Touch Plastic Surgery Center, will be on hand to speak with event guests on the latest skin care products.

Dr. Sillins, who is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, can also answer any other questions about the full range of options available to women who want to improve their appearance with both surgical and non-surgical procedures, and even offer a few of the services her clinic provides, at prices even a coupon-clipper can manage. As one of the few female plastic surgeons in the tri-state area she offers a personal perspective on the issues of improving a woman’s appearance.

Other participants include: Hair Stylist and Jewelry Designer Lynn Bennett. Bennett who, among her many services, provides hair replacement options for women on a budget, doesn’t want thin wallets to cause women to give up on improving their looks. She says, “The hair services I provide are among the most reasonable in the area” and the beautiful jewelry she designs starts at just $20.

Other sponsors include: The Salon and Spa at Dillards Crestview Hills and The Pilates ConneXion in Edgewood.

So, budget-conscious women in the Northern KY area are being encouraged to “Grab their friends and take a break from clipping coupons.” Guests will receive “Recessionista Beanie Bags” compliments of The Argentine Bean and the other event sponsors, filled with freebies and discount coupons. Guests will also be eligible for raffles prizes throughout the event. For more information call The Argentine Bean (859) 426-1042 or visit their website .
